HoDoMS is the organisation for Heads of Departments in the Mathematical Sciences in UK universities. It aims to promote the interests of Mathematical Sciences in higher education in the UK and to facilitate dialogue between departments.
HoDoMS does this by:
Supporting and informing departments about matters relevant to the mathematical sciences.
Acting as a conduit for information sharing between and across departments and the mathematical sciences community.
Organising a reflective annual conference.
Undertaking and contributing to small projects benefiting the mathematical sciences community.

HoDoMS is holding a course for heads of Mathematical Sciences departments, to take place at the Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences, Cambridge on 14-15 September, 2026. This follows on from previous similar successful events in 2019 and 2023. The course is designed for new and prospective heads but everyone is welcome and we hope that all heads will find the course to be valuable.
